FIRST SENIOR LEADERSHIP CAMP A SUCCESS

Over three days, 15 Senior Leaders from Clifton High embarked on the inaugural leadership camp to Gordon Country at Goomburra.
The students showed great initiative over the three days leading their own activities and running the campsite.  From blindfolded bushwalks to stone towers, students worked together to form stronger bonds and strengthen communication skills to improve their leadership.
The teachers would like to thank the students for the maturity and enthusiasm they displayed from the get-go.

 Reflections from a few particpants:

My time at leadership camp was very different to what many of us expected. We learnt valuable techniques in leadership without even realizing, while still having the time of our lives.
Michael Duggan

The leadership camp has been a valuable learning experience; from learning the ropes of camping, getting to know the other senior leaders, to stepping out of my comfort zone every day. I know that the camp has taught us all a great many things about what it means to be a leader. I hope that it will be a tradition that carries on for many years to come.
Kiraleigh Beutel

I have enjoyed myself immensely. We all have. This is one memory we will not be forgetting any time soon. From the chats and songs around the campfire, to working together in teams, we could not have asked for a better camp with better people.
Caitlin Lucas

Everyone coming together and creating fun activities was definitely a highlight. The one thing I will take with me is, you need to be mindful of how you communicate with people, and take into consideration their personality, to achieve the best outcome.
Naomi Simpson

The teachers gave us a difficult challenge. To get us out of our comfort zones, they paired us up and made one person lead the other blindfolded through the bush. This activity stressed to us the importance of how effective communication is a necessary aspect for a successful team.
