Weekly Writing Award

Weekly Writing Award winners for Semester 1

This year, we instigated a Weekly Writing Award to acknowledge excellence in writing in the classroom. The focus is on writing of paragraphs but can include extended writing. The award recognizes achievement across all years and subject areas.

Each week, the winner is announced on parade by Miss Miller who selects from pieces of writing submitted by the classroom teachers. Students receive a tuckshop voucher and a certificate.

The inaugural winner was Josiah (Year 10). After that we have had Evie (Year 7); Emily, Dina (twice) and Ashlin (Year 9); Bonnie and Montana (Year 10); Emma and Levi (Year 11) and Hayden, Caitlin and Abigail (Year 12). Writing has come from English, History, Visual Art, Social and Community Studies, Legal Studies and Home Economics while the forms of writing included have been creative explorations, analysis, argument, and explanation.

Congratulations to the students whose work has been selected for the award this semester. Looking forward to more outstanding classroom work next semester.
