FIRST SENIOR LEADERSHIP CAMP A SUCCESS
Over three days, 15 Senior Leaders
from Clifton High embarked on the inaugural leadership camp to Gordon Country
The students showed great initiative
over the three days leading their own activities and running the
campsite. From blindfolded bushwalks to stone towers, students worked
together to form stronger bonds and strengthen communication skills to improve

students for the maturity and enthusiasm they displayed from the get-go.
Reflections from a few particpants:
My time at leadership camp was very
different to what many of us expected. We learnt valuable techniques in
leadership without even realizing, while still having the time of our lives.
The leadership camp has been a
valuable learning experience; from learning the ropes of camping, getting to
know the other senior leaders, to stepping out of my comfort zone every day. I
know that the camp has taught us all a great many things about what it means to
be a leader. I hope that it will be a tradition that carries on for many years
I have enjoyed myself immensely. We
all have. This is one memory we will not be forgetting any time soon. From the
chats and songs around the campfire, to working together in teams, we could not
have asked for a better camp with better people.
Everyone coming together and
creating fun activities was definitely a highlight. The one thing I will take
with me is, you need to be mindful of how you communicate with people, and take
into consideration their personality, to achieve the best outcome.
The teachers gave us a difficult
challenge. To get us out of our comfort zones, they paired us up and made one
person lead the other blindfolded through the bush. This activity stressed to
