This year, we
instigated a Weekly Writing Award to acknowledge excellence in writing in the
classroom. The focus is on writing of paragraphs but can include extended
writing. The award recognizes achievement across all years and subject areas.
Each week, the
winner is announced on parade by Miss Miller who selects from pieces of writing
submitted by the classroom teachers. Students receive a tuckshop voucher and a

was Josiah (Year 10). After that we have had Evie (Year 7); Emily,
Dina (twice) and Ashlin (Year 9); Bonnie and Montana (Year 10); Emma and
Levi (Year 11) and Hayden, Caitlin and Abigail (Year 12). Writing has come from
English, History, Visual Art, Social and Community Studies, Legal Studies and
Home Economics while the forms of writing included have been creative
explorations, analysis, argument, and explanation.
